La Serva Padrona

On Friday 20th and on Sunday 22nd of May, 2005, Jaime Arroyo performed the opera buffa "La Serva Padrona" of G.B.Pergolesi (1710-1736) as Umberto. Serpina was interpretated by the soprano Berta Benedicto, at the moment student of the CMMB. The actors Milena Caliz, as narrator, and Roger Xaus, as the dumb Vespone, contributed to a beautiful actuation. All the opera was accompained with the piano, played by Montse Giné.
Althought both representations were successfully, on Friday there were some problems with the order of one Aria that was to be repited. On Sunday all goes very well.

Moreover, before the Pergolesi's opera, it was interpretated "Der getreue Musikmeister" of G.P.Telemann by the bariton Dani Casas as Musikmeister and the children choir of the School of Music of Esparreguera as disciples, also accompained by Montse Giné that played the piano.

The Scene director was Carme Paltor and the technic of illumination was Enric Canela.

Jaime Arroyo plays Ravel

On Saturday 12th of March, 2005, Jaime Arroyo played the Sonatine of Ravel at the Eduard Toldrà Hall in the Conservatory of Music of Barcelona. With him, also played other piano students as Eric Juan (at the moment disciple of Carles Julià), Mercé Sama (at the moment student of Musikene), Ian Lleonart, Anna Serret, Oriol Maçé, Guillem Roma and the very premiated Claudia Cordero (also disciple of Carles Julià). The concert was enjoined by a lot of parents, friends, music students and teachers that filled the hall and listened with attention.
The concert, that had to be a training to the ESMuC exams, was successfully.

"Charpentier i la seva època"

On Friday 27th and on Sunday 29th of January, 2006, Jaime Arroyo sang as baritone soloist of the Antique Music Choir (ESMuC) conducted by Albert Romaní. The concerts were dedicated to the music of the early baroque and it was played music from M.A.Charpentier, C.Carissimi and H.Purcell.
Both successfully concerts were the result of four months of hard work and were possible thanks to the collaboration of the Antique Music Orchestra (ESMuC) and the Children Choir of the Music School of Can Ponsic conducted by Ester Bonal.

Presentation - Bio


Jaime Arroyo, born in 1985, is a student of Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering at the ETSETB. (Polytechnic University of Catalonia UPC) and Sonology at the ESMuC (Superior Music School of Catalonia). In 2008, he is moving to Helsinki (Finland) within the Erasmus framework to do his Master Thesis at the Laboratory of Space Technology (Helsinki University of Technology) with Sampsa Koponen.

He began his studies of piano and solfegin in Music School of Esparreguera at nine years old where recieved piano lessons of Olga Aurin, Alba Comellas, Ingrid Ustrell and the ACC member Lola Pérez. After two years in the CMMB (Conservatory of Music of Barcelona) where he improved his knowledge in harmony and counterpoint with the catalan composers Vicenç Acuña and Xavier Boliart and advanced in his piano mastery with the balear concert performer Ramon Coll, he obtained a place to continue his musical estudies at the ESMuC where has recieved classes about diferents topics from teachers as Bernat Vivancos, Thomas Noll, Luca Chiantore, Pere Casulleras, Albert Guinovart with others.

He has been awarded with a scholarcship twice, (2007 and 2008) by the Foundation Lola Lizaran, to support him in his studies at the ESMUC.

After singing in the parish choir of Sant Esteve Sesrovires, on 2002, he began to study classical chant as baritone soloist with Alícia Prieto in Esparraguera. This has allowed him to perform different characters in operas such as "Il Matrimonio Segretto" of Cimarosa, "La Serva Padrona" of Pergolesi or "l'Elisir d'Amore" of Donizetti at different theathers like the "Teatre de la Passió d'Esparreguera".

He has contributed as pianist and singer, with pieces of Bach, Clementi, Schumann, Liszt and Rachmaninoff in Classical Archives. More recently, he has recorded some of his performancers and has published them in youtube.

Furthermore, he has given classes as piano teacher.

Finally, his usually teacher, and loved friend, Carolina Rius, has been determinant. Carolina, honor mentioned disciple of Carles Julià (CMMM), Stanislav Pochekin (Conversatory of Liceu, Barcelona) and Arthur Schoonderwoerd (EsMUC) and piano teacher of premiated pianist as Nuria Roura (37th Concurs Joves intèrprets de Catalunya), helps and supports him to improve his madurity not only as artist even as person and pushes him to continue growing in all the fields of his life.
